Basic Life Skills 101 |

This class is designed to teach basic life skills
inherent to day to day functioning. This class is designed
for kids of all abilities. Skills covered in this class
include: basic social skills, playing with a peer, eating
snack and tasting new foods and eating in a restaurant.
1st Session
Getting to Know You
Your child will learn:
- how to initiate conversation with another
child
- how to initiate play
- how to engage another child in play
2nd Session
Having a Playdate
Your child will learn:
- to identify verbal and non-verbal signs that
it is time to change the activity
- how to transition to a new activity
- when to play a new game
- how and when to ask if your playdate would like
something to eat or drink
- how to ask mom or dad for a snack for you and your
playdate
3rd Session
Eating a Snack:
Your child will learn:
- how to invite a playdate into the kitchen
for a snack
- how to offer snack choices
- how to offer drink choices
- how to ask for help
- how to explore new foods
- when to say "yes, please", "thank
you" and "no thank you"
4th Session
Eating in a Restaurant
Your child will learn:
- how to order a meal in a restaurant
- how to order a drink in a restaurant
- how to ask for a glass of water
- when and how to ask for help
- how to behave when I am waiting for my food
- when to say "yes, please", "thank
you", and "no thank you"
